What is shark Diving?
Shark diving, or cage diving, allows divers, researchers
and film crews to view the extraordinary world of Great
White Sharks in comfort and safety. Shark Adventures
offers our divers Safe and Sane
encounters.
Specially designed shark viewing cages provide adequate
protection for the sharks and for our divers, while allowing divers total freedom of movement and panoramic views. Our shark diving crews are industry professionals who
have been to this site and know the shark you will be
encountering.

Is Shark Diving Dangerous?
To date, our most serious issue has been a sunburn. White Sharks have many myths surrounding them. One is that they are killing machines attacking anything in sight. We have
found that even at the height of a feeding event with
multiple animals around a carcass, white sharks prove to be
shy, slow moving animals. Our divers are amazed to learn first hand that these animals are almost gentle. That said, divers should always maintain a healthy respect for these awesome predators, in and out of the water!

Do I need Qualifications to dive?
Other than being reasonably physically fit, you don't have to be an expert diver
to cage dive with us. For non-divers joining us this season, you will be required
to attend a one-hour on-board cage diving presentation.
We have a unique cage diving program.

What if I am not certified?
You have two options:
a) We will send you down with a qualified instructor; it is up to him/her to
make a final decision about your dive with us.
b) You will be able to join us as on board cameraman, for amazing topside
feeding images.

How big are the sharks?
Isla Guadalupe Great Whites are primarily transitional sub-adults, 12 -14 feet.
We see giant females later in the season up to 19 feet in length - sleek, fast, and beautiful.
We also encounter Pacific Short Fin Makos on very rare and very special occasions.

Is cage diving always possible?
On occasions adverse weather may prevent safe cage diving operations. The captain will make the decision when he feels that safety is at risk. He may move to a better location or even cancel the
day's trip and reschedule another trip as soon as weather improves.
Safety is always our first priority.

How far in advance do I have to book?
We suggest that you book your expedition with us as soon as possible to guarantee yourself a spot
on our either of our fleet boats for the limited expeditions to this incredible newly discovered Great White Shark site. Worldwide attention has grown for Isla Guadalupe over the past three years,
and we are experiencing record interest.

Is there a refund if we do not see sharks?
Yes and no. While we do not offer cash refunds, if in the unlikely event you get "skunked" (no sharks) you will receive an immediate $400 gift certificate for use on your next expedition with us. We will do everything in our power to get you to our White Sharks. We only run operations in high season,
we know when and at what times the sharks are feeding and have the benefit of the world's most
productive pristine shark site to operate in. If we have to cancel an expedition due to weather,
you will also get a gift certificate good for two years on a return trip.
